About R.C. Todd
In his 47 year career with Armco, Robert Chalmers Todd began as an office boy and ended as Vice President.
Through the 1930’s his leadership and enthusiasm launched a junior tennis program that ultimately put Middletown on the map as a breeding ground for champion junior players. He scoured the city parks to find and help young hopefuls develop themselves as tennis players and as people.
Following his death in 1950, the R.C. Todd Memorial Fund was established to continue this momentum. Over the years, thousands of Middletown are boys and girls have benefited from the wholesome physical development offered by tennis regardless of their financial means. R.C. Todd loved children and he loved tennis.
